Pretty Christmas Party Nails

I had my company Christmas party last week, and I wanted a really classy ornate Christmas design on my nails for the event.  Here is what I came up with:

Check this out ^ I even managed to do the design on my left hand!

Here are the steps I took:
  1. Drew a diagonal french on each nail with Sally Hansen Insta Dri Silver Sweep.
  2. Using a detailing brush, I created the cute little swirls in Zoya Verushka.  I followed this tutorial on Youtube to teach me how to draw the swirls.
  3. After a coat of Seche Clear I added three little red rhinestones to represent some Holly Berries.
I love all the cute Christmas looks, but I think sometimes its nice to have a break and do something ~*fancy*~

Funny Story: I actually went and got a professional pedicure the day of my company Christmas party, and the ladies at the nail salon were studying my manicure HARDCORE!  They all couldn't believe I did it myself, and wanted to know how I did it of course!  ;)

Halloween Week Day 4: Spider Web Nails

Hi guys! Hope you are enjoying this week of Halloween looks so far! Today I have another purple look for you:

Base color is "Let's talk" by Sinful Colors. Spider web and spider are from Bundle Monster BM13. I added a red rhinestone to the spider to make it look like a black widow and so it would stand out a little better on the purple background. What do you guys think?

Fourth of July Manicure and Pedicure!

I have been loving Pinterest lately!  I have found so much inspiration for my nails.  When trying to find the perfect fourth of July manicure I turned to Pinterest and found this beauty, which I blatanly duplicated because I just loved it so much.  Now, if you follow me on Twitter you got a sneak peek of my mani and pedi on Instagram:
Don't you just love how Instagram makes pictures look?  So artsy fartsy!  LOL!  I didn't take any other pictures of my pedicure so here are the deets: Big toes = Zoya Tallulah with stamps from BM221 and konad M3.  The rest of my toes were painted Zoya Purity with stripes in Zoya Kamilah.

Here are some more shots of my manicure.  I started with a silver base using a silver from LA Colors.  Then on two of the nails I painted blue tips with Zoya Breezi, and added stripes with Zoya Sookie.  On my thumb nail, I used a striping brush to add some fireworks with Breezi, Sookie, and a white.  Then to finish it all off I added rhinestones all over.

I really love this look!  I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July!  Mine was pretty boring, just a cookout and watching the fireworks on tv.  Are you on Pinterest?  If so, share your link!  Want to join in on the fun?  Drop your email in a comment and I'll send you an invite.

It's a Blingtastic Pink Wednesday!

Apologies for this being a day late.  Blogger would not cooperate for me yesterday when I was trying to post this.
For today's pink Wedneday I have what may be one of my favorite shades of all time: Zoya Areej.  (last seen here) I think I love Areej so much because my favorite colors are pink and purple and she just seems like the perfect combination of both.
I gave Areej a cute little bow stamp from my Big Fat Plate but can also be found on Konad's M76 plate.
Then I added three different shades of pink rhinestones.  The photo above was taken with my blingy iPhone case because it matched so well! :)
I am in love with this manicure.  I've kept it on for two whole days, so you know it must be good! :)  Hope everyone had a great pink Wednesday!

Audrey's Jewels

For this manicure I started off with China Glaze For Audrey, which is a perfect Tiffany blue color. Then I stamped the necklace design from my big fat plate, and added some rhinestones as pendants to the necklace.

I couldn't decide between lots of rhinestones and just one.
What do you think?

Wink Wink Twinkle

Guess what I found at Ross this week?
Hello Beautiful! I have been wanting the Color Club Starry Temptress collection ever since it was announced.  It just screamed perfect summer color to me!  I snatched up the last pack from Ross on Tuesday for only $8!!  I definitely think all my summer pedicures will be from this collection.  Who doesn't love sparkly neon toes?  But this collection isn't just great for the toesies, I am not afraid of a little neon on my nails!  So, my first manicure with the Starry Temptress collection is using the purple in the middle.  I *think* it is called Wink Wink Twinkle, but Color Club doesn't label their bottles, so this is just going off the back of the bottle.
Here is a swatch of Wink Wink Twinkle with the Sparkle top coat and Seche Vite on top.
I stamped a design from BM206 using Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and added a rhinestone in the center.  I really love the final outcome of this.  This collection was totally worth all the swooning and hunting down!

A couple of tips with this collection that I've found:
  • These are neons, so they dry matte, and you'll want a top coat to make it shine
  • If you plan on stamping, do so BEFORE adding the sparkle top coat.  I did not do this, and I think my designs came out a little messy because they didn't go down on a smooth base.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!  Here in the states we have a holiday on Monday, so I'm REALLY looking forward to the three day weekend.

NOTD: Purple HOLO!

Hello lovelies, Any one else been through Blogger withdraw over the past day? The weekly nail blog roundup has been delayed because of blogger being down. Expect that sometime over the weekend. In the meantime, here's a simple manicure I did this week.

This adorable purple holo is Color Club Fashion Addict. The stamp is BM08 in konad special black polish with pink rhinestones as an accent.

My birthday giveaway ends on Sunday, so this is your last chance to get your entries in!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Pink Wednesday!

You guys, I have a new favorite pink.  SRSLY, I am in love!  During Zoya's Earth Day sale, I really focused my search for pinks (since On Wednesdays We Wear Pink), and one of the beauties I purchased is called Flora.  It is such a stunning shade!  And of course Zoya has the most flawless formula.  Everything smooths out perfectly and looks so shiny and pretty in just two coats!

I stamped my tips in Konad special white with a design from BM17.  Then, to add a bit more bling, I filled in the big heart using Zoya Areej and my dotting tool, added a pink rhinestone, and brushed on a little China Glaze Fairy Dust.  Here are a couple more detail shots for ya:

So, what's your favorite pink?

NOTD: Zoya Ibiza

Real simple mani for you today.  Base coat is Zoya Ibiza, and the stamp is BM12 with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep then I topped it off with a light blue rhinestone.  Sometimes its nice to do just do something pretty even if it has been done a million times before and just not have to use any creativity.

Good news, lovelies!  One week from today is my bday!  And to celebrate I'm hosting my very first giveaway!  I've got some gorgeous goodies in store for you!  I'm also going to have some birthday themed nails all next week to celebrate!  YAY!

I Whip My Nails Back and Forth!

I'm working my way through the fabulous Robin Moses nail art tutorials on Youtube, and the other day I came across this one:
And I thought it was SO HOT!  I love the "Whip my hair" song too.  So, with that playing in the background, I went after making my own version.  Here are my tools:
Sally Hansen Lightning and Lickety Split Lime, Zoya Breezi, Dollar Store Black, Zoya Areej (making her 3rd appearance this week - I'm in love)
I started off with these skittles.  Then went in with black to cut in some triangles in a different position on each nail.  Then, with my striper (won in the LTHP giveaway) I outlined my triangles and did a criss cross design on my ring finger.  Then I laid down some SV and added some accent rhinestones to match the color of each nail.  Here's the final product:

 Left Hand
Right Hand

This manicure was soooooooooooooo fun!  I hope I did Robin justice!  What do you think?  Hope everyone has a fabulous hair-whipping weekend!
xoxo,
Jen

Flower Power!

Hoping that spring was here to stay I decided to do a fun flower power konadicure last week.  Check it out:
 With Flash
Without Flash.
I started with Zoya Raven as my black base.  Then I stamped the two flowers from konad plate M60 in Zoya Robyn, Sally Hansen Lickety Split Lime, Konad Special pink polish and special white polish, and special yellow polish.  In the colored flowers, I used my dotting tool to add the white centers and in the white flowers, I added blue and pink rhinestones :)
Guess what came in the mail last week? My haul from Forever 21!  In case you missed it, a couple of Fridays ago, Forever 21 decided to donate all proceeds from sales, so I took advantage of a good cause to pick up a cute new outfit, and these four beauties.  Their names aren't very exciting: Orange, Aqua, Dusty Lavender and Charcoal, but I definitely can't wait to wear them!

Green Week - Day Three

Green Gradient St. Paddy's Day!

This was my first time getting a successful gradient effect.  I'm learning that light colors and very light coats are the key to successful gradient effects.  I started with a base coat of Zoya Purity and then I stamped with two more of my Zoya greens: Tangy(lighter green) and Midori(darker green)  Then I stamped the shamrock from fauxnad plate m71 using Konad special white polish, then added a cute little green rhinestone for a little extra bling :)

In other nail news: I got my Zoya Intimate collection in the mail yesterday!  *insert happy dance here*  The package came with a catalog previewing the new summer colors!  The ModMatte collection looks so freaking hot!  I anticipate all three of those colors to be my go to shades this summer!  SO HOT!!!  I can't wait to finally be able to use the intimate collection next week when green week is over!  I might even have to sneak in Gemma this week since it is technically green...:)

Green Week - Day Two

I'm going to call this one Funky Neon Half Moon

For this manicure I started with Zoya Purity as my base, then I stamped a crisscross shape from Konad stamp m64 using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lickety Split Lime.  This got me the cute shape at the bottom, and then I just filled in the rest very carefully with the lime color.  To finish it off, I added a cute green rhinestone from a set I got on eBay.

Then, tragedy struck...

TWO NAILS IN ONE NIGHT!!!!!  :(  What is it about the kitchen that always messes up my nails?  With the dishes and the chopping and everything else, it's just a dangerous place!

Black and White Polka Dots and Bling!

I was inspired by a manicure I saw over at Kawaii Nails for today's nails. I alternated Zoya Raven and Zoya Purity as my base coat, and then I used M45 to stamp the polka dots on my ring finger tip, and a Born Pretty plate for the Hello Kitty.  The other dots were applied using my dotting tools also from The Born Pretty Store I love how girly and blingy this came out, but man, it took forever!

Zoya Charla - The nail polish mermaids should wear!

I LOVE Zoya Charla!  It is one of my favorite colors in my collection.  It definitely deserves an underwater stamping treatment.  So, I took one of the fauxnad plates from Born Pretty Store with an underwater theme and stamped a different design for each nail.  I LOVE the outcome!  Let me know what you think!

Zoya Jo with some cute little flowers

This is Zoya Jo.  Isn't she gorgeous!  I stamped the white flowers from a fauxnad plate from Born Pretty Store using Konad Prencess White polish, and I added little blue rhinestones from a kit I got off eBay.

Hello Kitty!

This was my first manicure using rhinestones!  Aren't they adorable!  I got the rhinestones off eBay and the adorable Hello Kitty stamp is from Born Pretty Store.  The lace tip is from konad plate M57.  The base color is O.P.I Princesses Rule.  This is one of my favorite manicures so far!
